Robotics, with the covers off.
Vortex & Vector is an independent robotics and mechatronics publication edited by Ishtiak Alam Rafid, a Robotics and Automation Engineering student at Harbin Institute of Technology in China.
About the publisher ↗VnV follows the work behind a machine: choosing an actuator, testing a control loop, finding the loose connector after an hour of debugging. We cover research and competitions alongside the projects you can build on a student workbench.
Seven sections, one workshop
Read The Rundown for news, Under the Hood for technical explanations, and Build Logs for project documentation. Competition Watch follows the field. Bio-Inspired Corner examines mechanisms borrowed from nature. Field Notes brings a student perspective from China, and Take a Stand gives contributors room to argue a position.
Our publishing rhythm
We aim to publish each week. Sections rotate as stories develop. A build may need a follow-up; a useful question may take more than one issue to answer.
Bylines and corrections
Contributors keep their bylines. The editor checks submissions and works with authors on revisions and media. We label sample articles as demos and keep them out of search-engine indexing. They demonstrate the publication format and do not describe completed experiments or personal experiences.
